Where to keep the backup file
- Upload it to Google Drive or OneDrive (free, syncs automatically if you have their desktop app)
- Copy it onto a USB drive
- Email it to yourself as an attachment
- Send it to yourself on WhatsApp ("Message Yourself")
A backup that only exists on the same laptop doesn't protect you if that laptop's data is erased — it needs to live somewhere else too.
